Club Championship 2009 Begins

Even though the club championship had no promotion on chess.ca 29 people still showed up to enter our event. That said and done the first round was filled with some very exciting moments.

This included a fireworks display by Constantine Khayutin when he sacrificed his rook against Steven Liu. However, when the dust settled it was Liu with the point by his name.

A note to contestants in this year's championship: There will probably not be a floater in this event so there is a possibility of forced byes. Because of this we ask that bye requests be eamiled to us at chesshamilton@gmail.com ASAP.
