Hi John, Yah, it was quite a game, I was actually up 3 pawns in the white side of a Gruenfeld, certainly should have won, but Doug outplayed me in time pressure and came up with an amazing windmill/mating net.

Hamilton's Next Chess Series Begins This Friday!

There are several things to remember about our next chess series, "Spring Series 2009". There will be an optional prize fund for an additional five dollars. Players who do not wish to enter the optional prize fund will just pay the 3 dollar rating fee plus room rent. (See membership rates in the menu).

The time control will be 80 minutes with a 30 second increment. Please note that when there is an increment of 30 seconds or more ALL moves must be written down.

Chessmania 2009 Final Results

Toronto Open Is April 17, 18 and 19

It was mistakenly announced in the Club last Friday that the Toronto Open is on Easter weekend. However, it it will be one week after Easter starting Friday April 17.

In previous years it was held on Easter but this year organizers decided to try it on a different date so that there would be less conflict with family events.
