Opening Reports are not unlike ECO monographs in that they contain a theory table of a selected opening line and many footnotes to games for alternative moves. The difference is lines are given a winning percentage instead of an assessment.
The reports are generated automatically by a database program (in this case SCID) which means their down side is that they can give a high winning percentage to a "bad" line in some cases. Their advantage over ECO tables is that they are purely honest and dont hide, or deceive about lines. Please also note that according to SCID author Shane, reports with under 500 games are less accurate.
Anyways using them is very easy. Select one of the openings below then click on it. Once you go to the opening page just scroll down to the theory table.
I can do some basic programming and I can put up, let's say, a pgn viewer of sorts that you see in the "member's games" section. I am not skilled enough, however, to make a javaboard that could work along side one of these opening reports.
Any volunteers here interested in doing such a project for this site?
