Membership Fees

There are two memberships to consider when playing chess in Canada. One is for your local club the second is for the Chess Federation of Canada. The local club membership allows you to play chess in the club itself and typically covers club expenses such as rent, maintaining clocks etc.

The Canadian Chess Federation membership allows you to play chess in CFC sanctioned tournaments across Canada. This enables you to get a ranking and play the strongest players in Canada. CFC membership also includes access to the official online chess magazine. If you only want to play casual chess games you do not need a CFC membership to play in Hamilton.
